SFTT’s campaigns provide our brave defenders and those who care deeply about them with a national platform that spotlights critical issues directly affecting their chances of both winning battles and surviving combat. Our goal and that of the SFTT website is to Inform, Educate and Follow-up on critical issues to insure that our frontline troops have the best available leadership, equipment and training. As a non-partisan and apolitical foundation, SFTT raises public awareness and pushed for appropriate action in an engaging and professional manner. To help us in this effort:
There are many ways to support the SFTT mission. As a non-partisan and apolitical educational foundation, the goal of our members and volunteers is to inform, educate and follow-up. One should politely and responsibly let our elected leaders and others know that we care deeply about the men and women who serve in harm’s way. Setting up a personal meeting is the best way build an ongoing relationship.
Face-to-face contact remains the most effective way to get your message across. Where possible, setup a personal meeting. While you may not be able to meet with a Senator, Representative, Governor, News Director or a Managing Editor, you should be able to meet with one of their subordinates. Let them have an opportunity to begin to know you as an earnest and concerned citizen, with a deadly serious message.
Go to your meeting prepared with relevant information that you can leave behind. Always volunteer to send additional information to keep your contacts up-to-date on the latest developments. Overtime you will begin to build credibility and become their useful asset by providing un-filtered reports from America’s grunts, direct from the battlefield!

One should politely and responsibly let our elected leaders and others know that we care deeply about the men and women who serve in harm’s way. While a personal meeting is the most effective way to get your message across, a timely telephone call is often more feasible.
While the objective of the initial phone call is to establish a meeting, regular phone conversations can earn your information a high degree of receptivity on the part of your “phone buddy.” Holding regular meetings and phone conversations takes time and effort on your part, but is certainly worth the effort.
If you want to be effective as a facilitator in getting the battlefield truth to your targeted audience, you must stand out from the crowd, and the best way to do this is to build a reputation for being a credible source with solid information.

One should politely and responsibly let our elected leaders and others know that we care deeply about the men and women who serve in harm’s way. While personal contact is the most effective way to get your message across, a well-written and personal letter can be quite persuasive. Faxes and emails are generally treated as “junk-mail” or “spam” and, as such, we do not believe that it is an effective form of communication.
When writing an elected official, your letter should attempt to connect on a personal level. It is all well and good to be concerned about the effectiveness of combat gear, but your elected official wants to know why you are concerned. If you have a son or daughter or loved one serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, consider using their story to make your letter more impactful and relevant.

Stand For The Troops (“SFTT”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Educational Foundation established by the late Col. David H. Hackworth and his wife Eilhys England to insure that our frontline troops have the best available leadership, equipment and training.
In the past four-plus years SFTT'S active campaign has focused on ensuring America's frontline troops get the best available individual protective equipment and combat gear.
Donations and contributions from concerned Americans help fund the SFTT website.
Includes rare footage from Hack's memorial service at Fort Myers Chapel and burial in Arlington National Cemetery.
All donations received from purchasing of The Hackworth Memorial DVD go to Stand For The Troops a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, non-partisan apolitical foundation established by Hack and his wife Eilhys to make sure that America's front-line forces—the kids Hack loved out at the tip of the spear—always have the right training, leadership and equipment to meet their assigned missions and make it home alive and in one piece.
