Army Veteran and Artist Lt Col David Richardson will Auction His Original Artwork to Benefit Fellow Veterans with PTSD

NEW YORK, NY, MARCH 2019 — Vanity Fair celebrity interviewer George Wayne and Award Winning TV Host and Best Selling Author, Rita Cosby will be co-hosting an exhibition and benefit at The Solider and Sailors Club at 283 Lexington Avenue on Thursday, March 14th @ 6PM.

Wayne will be auctioning off an original piece by artist, author, and retired marine Lt Col David Richardson. The piece in question titled “Muscle Man,” which is acrylic and buck shot on plywood, also serves as the cover art for Lt Col Richardson’s debut novel War Story, due to be released by Simon & Schuster April 16th of this year.

In gratitude to Wayne and Cosby for co-hosting the event, Lt Col Richardson will also present the legendary writer with one of his original paintings.

Proceeds from the event will go towards Stand for the Troops and the Global Stress Initiative ,to continue work to diagnose, treat, and prevent PTSD in  American Combat Veterans.

Eilhys England Hackworth, Executive Director, Stand for the Troops states: “My late husband Col David “Hack” Hackworth and I founded Stand for the Troops because combat veterans need to be protected, post active duty, with more than lip service. The goal of our non-profit  is to heal as many veterans with PTSD/TBI as possible, as quickly as possible, so these men and women can once again become active members of their families and society.” 

Lorraine Silvetz, MSW, Executive Director, Global Stress Initiative states: “Global Stress Initiative is honored by Colonel Richardson’s generous offer to support our treatment of service members and veterans. GSI donated treatment, utilizing individualized transcranial magnetic stimulation (iTMS), to 100 veterans with 99% efficacy between 2017-2018. We are collaborating with our partners at Stand for the Troops to propagate this innovative protocol to as many veterans as possible.”
